be the last bow of a show
Climb Ev'ry Mountain

All through middle school, high school, and college I have been involved in Music Theatre productions. I started off small with tons of chorus parts, worked up to a few speaking or solo parts, then eventually a couple supporting roles. In my freshman year of college I was thrilled to be cast in my first lead as Cinderella in Into the Woods. I felt so amazing completing that show but realized even though it was an important part I was still missing out on the pride and recognition that comes with having the final bow of the show. This past spring semester I was cast as Maria in the Sound of Music. I was “the lead” for that show, no questions asked. I got to take my final bow which started hand in hand with my best friend playing the Captain, then he took his bow and I was given mine! It felt so amazing to be recognized in front a crowd for all the hard work and dedication that went into that part. Now that I have experienced it, I am so glad I worked so hard to get there! However, I certainly won’t give up doing shows and being in the chorus, because every part is important! But I am glad I was blessed with this opportunity at least once in my life!
