speak in front of an audience
Untitled

I have to deliver a dramatic monologue in front of a group of people I don’t much like. They don’t know my name, I don’t know theirs. I have to pretend to be a nasty, bitter ex-girlfriend. I think to think of myself as kind of nice and quiet (usually) so this is going to be hard for me and I’m adding it to my goals so there will be some satisfaction in completing it.

Holy God and crap I am so nervous though.

grow my hair to my hips
:D

I don’t intend for it to stay there. I just want to do it :D Once it gets to that length I’ll chop a bit off, probably back to just under my ribs or something.

Hmm.

Getting there, I suppose. I’ve slipped up a bit since I’ve started school again because I haven’t had time to fill up my water bottle. May start taking two water bottles and keep them in my locker.

AT LONG LAST!

I wrote the opening paragraph last night around 10 PM. Felt like rubbish as I was writing it but reading over it now, I think I may have the idea for Book 3. FINALLY.

Oooowww...

My stomach, thighs and arms are so so so so so sore. But alas, I LOVE IT. I love hurting from workouts. It’s just painful to workout again and that’s what I hate.

I like to do sets of sit-ups, these inner thigh stretches where you lie on your back, put your legs in the air and let them fall out as far as they will go (sounds strange but it works) and this arm workout where you put your hands on the edge of your bed (or another sturdy object) and lower yourself. I usually do these in rotations; each for the length of a song.

Favourite workout songs:

~ She’s So Lovely – Scouting for Girls
~ Friday I’m In Love – The Cure
~ You Oughta Know – Alanis Morissette
~ Move Along – The All-American Rejects
~ Achy Breaky Heart – Billy Ray Cyrus
~ All The Small Things – Blink-182
~ Dancing in the Dark – Bruce Springsteen
~ Accidentally In Love – Counting Crows
~ Rock & Roll – Eric Hutchinson
- My Heroine – The Maine

OH MY GOD the other day I went for a walk and halfway through, this guy starts following me. I figured he must have just been going the same way, because when I got to my street, he was just.. gone. But THEN! I was walking up the road and I looked behind me and he was THERE AGAIN! So I took some complicated turns and ran through a tennis court and someone’s garden to get home. Even my dog freaked out.

Scary. Will definitely make someone walk with me next time.

Get a tattoo
What I'm considering...

I want to get a tattoo that means something to me.

i am, i am, i am

There’s a long story behind this one.

i’m burning, burning, burning blue.

Saw this in a book I read today. Really speaks to me.

my shadow days are over.

Song by John Mayer. Thinking about getting this once I get my life on track.

one more try.

So many times I have told myself, “This is it. This is the end. I give up.” But it wasn’t the end. I’m giving it one more try. So this one speaks for itself.

imagine.

I’m a writer. Gotta be creative. Plus I love the song by John Lennon.

believe.

Because you have to.

black on one wrist, blue on the other

Don’t really want to talk about this one.

Obviously I have a lot of things I’m considering but I really like the first one ‘i am i am i am’ because it means the most to me. I’ll have to think about this for a while though. Tattoos are pretty permanent.

Finally making headway!

I’ve got a 48 page little exercise book with the title of my manuscript on the front and the first few pages filled with ‘Jane Doe is too stereotypical’ and ‘John Appleseed drinks too much’ and ‘not enough hints dropped about Kate Smith.’ These are obviously not the names of my characters. At least I hope it’s obvious. Anyway, key message: I’m doing okay.

So now I’m going to dive head-first into chapter one and extract some subplots to replace them with more interesting things. Wish me luck!

The Story of My Morning

Once upon a time, a very tired girl (read: me) went to bed at 11 PM. John Mayer’s ‘Not Myself’ woke her up at 5:30 AM and she tripped over a pillow trying to turn off the alarm. She laid back in bed. A voice in her head kept shouting, “What are you doing? Get out of the bed! Get out! Get out NOW!” and she shouted back, “ALRIGHT!” and stumbled into the bathroom. And what did she see out the bathroom window?

Rain.

Rain, out the window when I wanted to walk the dog.

I realise I’m being a tad dramatic but it really makes me cranky that the one day I manage to get out of bed, it’s all windy and raining. Like, why today, God?

Anyway. Enjoy your day or night or whatever :)

Um...

5:30 AM: My bed is so warm, and I’m so tired, I’ll just sleep for five more minutes…. AND BOOM. It’s 7 o’clock and too late to do anything but get up and get ready. On the plus side, I was tired from getting a head start on editing my book, so it’s not all bad. But tomorrow. I have got to start this tomorrow.

Finally tackling this!

Woke up in the middle of the night last night (or earlier this morning, depending on how you look at it) and I couldn’t get back to sleep because I couldn’t stop thinking about my book and how good it would be to have it published. So I woke up, made myself a peanut butter sandwich and edited the first chapter. I’m on four hours of sleep but I feel energised (and I don’t even drink caffeine!) and empowered. So yeah, in short, I’m trying to get the first edit done by the end of February by editing one chapter a day. Woooo! :D
