I used to play the horn in a community orchestra several years ago, but I haven’t played in a while. So a few days ago I took out my horn, and of course the valves had seized up. It took a while to get the valves moving again, and to even get a sound out was quite an effort. Have to build up the lip muscles again. So today I tried again, and was able to play some melodies again, mostly on the B horn. Also practicing long sustained notes. I hope to join an orchestra again in the near future.

I took the train from Oslo to Stockholm last weekend. It was a night train, so I got a sleeper car. It was hard to sleep, though. The train was pretty bumpy and noisy, and stopped a lot. For some reason the conductor had to blow the horn a lot. It was worth it though…Stockholm is incredible.
I missed my train back because I was waiting at the arrival track for Oslo instead of the departure, haha. That’s a good thing to check beforehand.

I was fortunate enough to be sent to Oslo on business. This is my third week here. I went to Stockholm last weekend. Even though I have to work during the week, I’m having a blast. Stockholm was incredible, and Oslo is very beautiful as well. Oslo is very expensive though!
