Alright, so here’s the thing: I drive without shoes on. I got my G2 in the winter of 2002, when all I ever wore on my feet were these big, chunky boots that would jam my knees up against the steering wheel. So, I’d always take my right boot off when I drove (which wasn’t often). Fast-forward a couple years, and I discover that I’ve gotten so used to driving barefoot that I can’t feel the pedals while I’m wearing shoes and it freaks the bejesus outta me.
Well, last week I finally took the bull by the horns and just did it. I put on some thin-soled mary janes and drove… and was fine.
Also! Went on the highway for the first time since my lessons a few years ago. All I need to do now is brush up on my parallel parking and I’ll be ready to go for my final driver’s test.

Mom read an article in the paper about people who suffer from gluten intolerance, and thought I should try laying off the wheat for a while, just to see if that could be what’s causing my stomach problems. So, my diet’s gonna be gluten-free for a month. Kinda sucks so far (I’m on Day 4)... no cookies, no pasta, no anything that contains wheat flour, rye, or barley, which is a surprising amount of stuff. Still, I figure it’s worth a shot.

Check this thing out, eh? Just won it off eBay. Turned out the other picnic basket I thought I had wasn’t really a picnic basket. Didn’t even have handles. But THIS… well, I mean, look at it! It’s a watermelon, for crying out loud! If I was going to cheat on my boyfriend with a basket, this would be the one. Though I’m not sure how that would work.
