In June of 2008, I bought my first motorcycle: a Suzuki GSXR 600. This was hands-down one of the best purchases I ever made. Not only was it a stress reliever and a joy to ride, but it opened many social avenues.

I made more friends, went joyriding together, met more women, and always had quick, fun transportation. My friends and I even took them to the track to race. There’s never a dull moment on a motorcycle (there is when you’re flying off one, though).

If you decide that motorcycles are for you, take a riding course! You will learn counter steering, the mental requirements of riding, and safety precautions. You will be considerably more confident on a bike—I can’t stress how important riding confidence is.

Most of all, have fun and gear up! (The ground hurts.)
