I am 26 and I don’t know how to drive. I know what needs to be done in order to drive a vehicle, but when I get behind a wheel I get nervous and semi freak out. I have driven cars before and it feels so awkward for me. I rarely go over 20-25 MPH, and hate stick shift. I work from home so it isn’t causing a huge inconvenience but I would like to have the freedom of being able to drive if I felt like it. I know that I can’t afford a car right now so that has no bearing on this goal. Hell, even just getting my license would make my day.
I know this isn’t going to happen overnight, and my fears will have to be lessened but it will eventually happen, and when it does – WATCH OUT WORLD!

My fiancee is half Persian and half Welsh. His mother and all of her side of the family was either born in Iran and live here, or they were born here and speak it fluently. I am not wanting to learn to impress them or for them to accept me. I could care less about that. They just never speak any English, even when they are around people who only know English, so people who don’t understand Farsi are left out of the conversations. I also want to learn so that on our wedding day I can say something sweet to him because his side might not understand what we are saying so it would be a nice gesture to include them and to show some respect. I also don’t want too many of them to know since I would want it as a surprise.
I have already downloaded an e-book on Farsi and bought a book from Borders so I am getting there. My fiancee isn’t fluent but sure knows a lot so he is teaching me stuff here and there.
One thing I know I won’t learn is how to read and write, and I’m ok with that. Hopefully I learn what I need to learn by December 2009!

My fiancee and I are getting married next year on the 19th of December. We are super excited and have been engaged since June of this year. We already have our colors picked out, have our reception site booked, have our DJ picked out, our bridal party picked out, and have our invitations picked out. Now all we need is the money to get all of this stuff done! Planning this has been a lot of fun and I can’t wait for the big day to be here :)
