My idea behind indepedence

I’ll just use an example from what I read below. Buying and selling a house. Financial stable yes, independent, no.
Having to move, buy, sell, pay taxes, fix, borrow, spend is not my definition of independence.
I want to be free from action to receive my income. I should have called it residual income.
