How I did it: I have finally learned something. Or rather, am learning something. In trying to forget the past, or let old wounds heal, I realized that neither of those things is possible. I can either move on, or continue trying to find closure. It's a silly thing the way we dwell on things. I know I couldn't seem to figure out why she left me. What I am learning is that she left me. How I did it: I bought a backgammon board to learn how to play, and found that most of my friends didn't know how to play either, so I was kind of stuck. Some of my best memories have come on road trips with no destination. It’s so easy to find cool things when you can find them anywhere along the way instead of at the end. I do recommend carrying a map along just so that when you’re ready to come home you can. And you can also keep track of where you’ve already been on your map. I finally accomplished something on my list! I was hanging out with a friend of mine last week and he pops up with hey, feel like playing a game, I’ve got backgammon. So he taught me how to play. We’ve now played probably 10 games in the last week. I’m nothing short of a backgammon expert now! I’m inordinately proud of myself, and I realize this, but hey, you gotta take some pride somewhere, right? But I know how to play the game now, and even some good basic entry level strategies. Yep, feeling right proud of myself.
