I finally caved and traded in my Elantra for an 07 Prius. So far it’s been fantastic!

Pick up a copy of Quicken, it will help tremendously. Not only will it assist you in creating and sticking to a budget, but it will allow you to see where your money is going so you can modify your spending habits if you need to. It will also make things easy by downloading your statements automatically from your bank’s website.
I’ve been using Quicken for awhile now and I know everything about what my money is doing. I can make more informed decisions about purchases now, knowing how much I can afford to actually spend on things.
The most important thing to remember is: live below your means!
I’m looking forward to the Hyundai Accent hybrid. I think it has the potential to be one of the most economical hybrids both in initial costs and in running costs since it’s such a small and light vehicle. I’d probably be willing to trade in my Elantra GT Hatchback for one.
I’d definitely go for a Hyundai hybrid because I’m so happy with my current Hyundai, and I know if they do a hybrid they’ll stand behind it and it’ll be a good product at a good price.
