I think the niche idea is the key…
I have done alot of research on early horticulture in San Diego. I have located many plants, planted back then that are unusual and did/do well here. 99% are not carried by the local nurseries. Many are beautiful and have low water needs to boot (there was not much of a water system here in the 1800’s) Most local nurseries may know of the plant, but have no idea where to get the plant stock. (can you say niche idea?)
