How I did it: Dedication and deadlines for a class. Got a first draft, sent it through a lot of workshopping with friends and classmates, then heavily revised the characters and scenes based on the feedback. If you're just starting out in screenwriting, revision will be key. Read how I did it…
Procrastinating is fun. I’m much more productive when I feel like I’m doing the forbidden, so I’ve created a system where my main job is something I don’t like, but my sidetracks are the real things I need done.
Example: Want to read “Fifteen Ways of Preparing Hair Styles for your Poodle” but keep procrastinating? Just force yourself to do something like - um, memorizing the middle four chapters of an Organic Chemistry textbook - and voila, you’ll find yourself gravitating towards that poodle book in no time.
Roads in the US are starting to get as polarized as our politics. There are the little cars and the aircraft-carrier-wanna-be SUVs. Let me count the number of times I’ve been cut off by drivers in these gargantuan vehicles who can barely see down to my rag top. It’s time we little cars start reclaiming the roads!cough
