I enjoy helping others to learn about chess. There is a substantial body of scientific and anecdotal evidence supporting the cognitive benefits of playing chess. And through learning and playing chess I have made many new friends and even changed my life and my career.
I have seen this noble little game help young people in a voyage of self-discovery and to enjoy many social benefits. A recent study indicated that playing chess may help to keep older minds young, and may even prevent or delay the onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
I am president of an historic chess club and am a director of a non-profit foundation that provide free chess instruction and tournaments for young people in grades K-12 in New York.
Write to me if you would like any information about chess.
Best wishes and thank you.
