I have been smoking for 12 years now. It all started on the 31st or is it the 30th of October 1997. It was a week after my matric farewell, so I had kept my promise to myself to be good throughout my High School career. After that things just went downhill. What was meant to be an experiment became a habit.
Anyway, 12 years later, what was the illusion of a “cool” life has actually become a burden as I am a practising Mormon who wants to enjoy the benefits of visiting the Temple.
I am not sure how I am going to do this, but I am planning on doing this. In the past when I have tried to quit I have found the nicotine patch to be the most effective solution, so I am going out tomorrow to buy some nicotine patches, and some grapefruit juice.
Yes, grapefruit juice to detox and get more vitamin C because us smokers need more of it and citrus is a good cource of vitamin C.
So, here is the plan. In 2011 I will be a non smoker and finally get the opportunity to go to the Temple and worship there.
I just want to improve my life by improving my relationship with God and this is one of those things I have to do in order to reach this goal.
And so the journey begins.
Keep me in your prayers.
xoxo
