I expected that by joining the Peace Corps I would learn to live much simpler. I do in many ways. But my desire to acquire stuff is still here inside. That is what must change if I truly want to live simply. Also it doesn’t help that my post is quite modern and some ammenities I assumed I’d live without (electricity, running water) is actually only living without hot water. I have, however, learned to make the most of what little I have and that has been huge.

And never lose sight that this is a daily goal. It is a decision to change attitude not an accomplishment.
the abundance of goats
In Nevis there is an abundance of goats. As a Peace Corps volunteer, I want to try milking a goat and perhaps build sustainability by creating a small business for some locals making and selling goat cheese. Yum…or maybe I just want to eat the goat cheese myself. :)
