How I did it: One of my brothers friends on FaceBook told him they were here in Maine. So we found out where they were going to be and than me and my three brothers waited 2 hours in a line of several hundred people for them the show up! Read how I did it…
Okay, so with over 200 websites under my belt,, everyone knows how much I love building websites. I total addicted to html and code writing, designing layouts, and writing up long texts. So I’m always on the lookout for new ways to expand my web-craze. Not long ago, a new web-host named Squidoo, showed up. Of course, I jumped in as one of thier early members. But than when I found out that they were gonna let people build free websites on their network, and than pay you for getting high traffic, I didn’t believe them. I read and re-read their ToS trying to find the “catch” convinced they were a scam, but couldn’t find one, so I set out to building “lenses” (what they call thier web pages, built by members.
I’ve been building Squidoo lenses since April 2007. Today I just got an announcment on my Squidoo Dashboard. It said:
Payday, Payday! Here’s your Squidcash, earned from 06/01/2006 to 06/30/2006. Congrats, and keep up the great lenses.
OMG! My first payday from Squidoo! I can’t believe it! My lenses are actually making money! When I first startede doing this and I read that you could make money doing it, I laughed. I built my first few lenses just to see if I realy could make money by shareing info on my hobbies, but I didn’t think it’d work. As I got going, I quickly got addicted to building them, and now I’ve got about 40 lenses. I’ve been haveing so much fun here, that I didn’t even think about the money part of it any more. In fact, I forgot that I had come here to try to make some extra money! LOL! Than today they send my first pay-day to my PayPal account.
WOW! I’m making money for doing something I love doing! That is so cool! Granted it’s no get rich quick thing, they don’t pay much. But hey, every little bit counts. So far I haven’t heard of any members making more than $50 a month, and most seem to be makeing closer to $10 a month or less.
There’s on guy over there, who says he’s gonna build lenses until he’s either built one million lenses or made one million dollars, which ever comes first. Last time I checked he had over 400 lenses! WOW! He says he’s got a pretty steady income coming in from it, but he hasn’t told us how much he makes. I wonder if I’ll ever get that many on my account. You know, I prob’ly well. I mean, I’ve made 40 of them in 5 months, so in a few years I should have quite a few! LOL!
Well, it’s a start anyways.
So, now I’m wondering, are any of you guys on Squidoo? If so, send me a message or comment with a link to your lenses. I’d love to read what you guys have to say over there.
