Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

1st Don

I had my black belt testing at the start of December, and I have passed. I am now an instructor, and I have been concentrating on helping families who decide to join. This has marked a very special time in my life and things are all falling together. My wife and I are now expecting a baby, and could not be happier. Tae Kwon Do has done so much for me, and I love training and instructing.

Maybe some help...

My wife and I have been doing a program from our martial arts Master, called Yang Seng. Now, I know everyone has different tastes in programs and that is great, because if it is working for you then stick with it and keep getting positive feedback from those around you! But I just want to share a little about how the program works. It is a diet and exercise program based on your own body type. So far, it has been great. It starts with a detox process and a healthy eating routine, and you feel better and more energetic. There is also workout routines, breathing exercises, and meditation and massage. We go to the classes after our Tae Kwon Do training with Master Ha, but he also has DVD’s too.
I have been told a referral is a great compliment, so I thought I should share. His site is or check out the MySpace site I am making for the program. It’s under YangSengLife. Tell them Eric and Trish sent you!
Well, best of luck to you all, and keep up the great work. A lot of you have done some great things in your life!

Green Belt

I will be testing for my Green Belt, and I am looking forward to every training class. I have been very excited and happy to help the new student and lower belts with form as well as stretching and work outs.
I am so happy with the school that I have chosen. The people are great and we are like a family. It is a great experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Quit Smoking (read all 2 entries…)
We all walk the long road...

The last time I had a cigarette was back in the start of October. I was at a wedding, and I got a smoke from my friend, the bride. And that was it. I didn’t have anymore left in my pack, and I told myself I wasn’t going to buy another. So I didn’t.
All I had to do was realize that I had control of myself and my actions. I had been a pack a day smoker for about 15 years. But that was the past, and it doesn’t exist anymore. Only the present. Do I think about smoking in the future, ...nope. I can’t worry about the future much, because it hasn’t happened. All we have is right now. You can only make your actions and decisions in the present tense, so make them count, because all we have is, well,

White Belt

I have just started doing Tae Kwon Do and I have also incorporated Yang Seng into my training. I am absolutely loving it! Tae Kwon Do has given me new focus and is already having a good impact upon my life. I had been a smoker for many years and had found myself in a state of mind that I no longer wanted to feel, ...laziness. That has all changed for me.

My strength has already increased, as well as stamina and overall conditioning. The area that I really need to focus on is my flexibility. I know this is a long journey and I look forward to each new day.

1 month, far so good

I have been a smoker for about 14 years. I did quit once for about a year and a half, but I started back once stress came along. I finally found what has worked for me for the past month: Tae Kwon Do.
