Qualified teachers just need to pick up a copy of the TES in England and look for the jobs overseas in the British schools. There is a high turnover, so there are always positions, sometimes mid-year. Just aplly, pass the interview and Roberto’s your uncle.
TEFL qualified people need to take more of a gamble. Pass a TEFL qualification, easy if done by correspondence then head out to Spain. Major cities are best, e.g. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, as there are hundreds of language schools ranging from the large one – such as Wall Street – to smaller privately run schools. You do, however, need to be in the city, and pound the streets to find a place.
Whichever route you take – it is worth it. I went out with no Spanish at all and bumbled through five years in Valencia.

I don’t have a child yet, but one is on the way and it’s that time when you sit down look at yourself and think, “Sh*t, am I really responsible/mature/selfless enough to look after another human being?” Guess time will tell.

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve always believed that I am a trumpet player. This is something that must seep out of me on a regular basis, because for a birthday my partner bought me one. We lived in a rented cottage in the muddle of nowhere at the time, so I blew away, and felt a little like and entry on X-Factor, full of belief but no talent at all. After a couple on months we bought a house, in town, mid-terrace! The trumpet was out of the question. I now awaits me moving to a deserted location where I can pick up the horn again.
Just a thought. Is there a lung theme going on here?
