While I enjoyed the experience of working from home [I couldn’t resist being able to work in my PJs all day, if I wanted], I didn’t enjoy the sporadic income. I worked as a freelance web designer and a web content writer, and I found the income I was pulling wasn’t nearly enough compensation for the hours required.

How I did it: I saved up for a few years with the intention of going to Europe, but I was never quite sure when. Then circumstances helped me decide.
