Put baby in his own bed!
The time has come

We have been ‘co-sleeping’ since my little boy was born 13 months ago. It has been a delightful experience (despite everyone telling us we were ‘making a rod for our own backs’).

Anyway he is now just that bit too big and wriggly for comfort, so we bought him his very first bed and prepared ourselves for weeks and weeks of tears and tantrums.

Four days later… he goes down in his new bed without any fuss, and sleeps in it until morning. It has a frog on it. He likes it.

write a play
About time

Every year there is a huge playwriting competition at my local theatre. Every year I say I am going to write a play and enter it, then I procrastinate, make excuses, and don’t.

The deadline is in the next few days. That gives me a whole year to write a play for next years comp. No excuses.

Learn to love housework
Just whistle while you work...

I predict this will be the longest outstanding item on my list.

Support new artists
And fill my life with beauty.

One day, in the very distant future, I imagine myself as a patron of the arts, scouring the country for exciting new artists and helping them up the ladder, whilst securing for myself in the process a personal collection the envy of galleries the world over.

In the meantime, I will buy all gifts from Etsy, and try and give my money to independent craftspeople rather than Chinese sweat shops.

work a four day week!
Thanks God it's Friday?

Since I’ve come back to work from maternity leave I have really struggled, I feel like I’ve got two full time jobs – being a mum and being a wage slave, neither of which I am doing particularly well at, I’m just so exhausted!

I’ve found a little known and well hidden policy at work which means I can ask for a temporary (up to 12 months) reduction in hours. I’ve worked out if I went down to a four day week I would only be £100 worse off a month by the time I have factored in childcare.

I’m just worried will people think I am lazy? I don’t want a day off a week to sit around watching daytime TV, I want to spend quality time with my baby, do our shopping, go to the library, organise our finances, keep on top of the housework… all the stuff I don’t get time for now!

lose 3 stone
It's a marathon not a sprint.

3 stone down, 3 stone to go!

I’ve joined Slimming World, my aim is to get to target by September, gulp!
