It’s a relief to feel, backbone-deep inside, that I have finally mastered the art of speaking in public. It’s difficult, yes. If your voice isn’t cracking then you’re talking to your notes, or your hands shake like you have palsy, or you knock something over, or you stutter, or you blush, or your voice don’t carry, or… yeah, all you not-good speakers know the deal.
Getting better at this made me feel so good about myself, and I truly recommend it.
Well, um… I woke up one day and realised that this goal, while cute, isn’t one I needed to have gone for in the first place. If I’m not me, then who the friggin’ am I?
I’m myself, I realised, and there’s just no other way for me to be anything but that. Um. Yeah.
