How I did it: 1. I had been collecting pictures and items in a keepsake box for some time with the plans to make a scrapbook.2. I was making it for an anniversary present for my boyfriend, so I brainstormed what I wanted on each page from important memories we had over the past year.3. I shopped around at several specialty and general stores until I found the actual scrapbook (Wal-Mart), a packet of scrapbook pages and decals (Wal-Mar… Read how I did it…
How I did it: After 23 years of never running more than a mile, I began training about 12 weeks before the half marathon.I started out slowly and used modified versions of some of the training plans that I found online.I took about three weeks to build up to a full mile of running. Okay, so I’m on week 3 of P90x. My boyfriend and I made a promise to encourage and support one another especially on days where we would rather skip the workout. For the most part, the workouts are fun. He is already seeing results and weight loss, but I’ve actually gained a few pounds – just muscle weight, I hope! I want to add running (I sometimes ran before starting p90x) a few days a week during the next phase and see if that helps me.
The biggest roadblock is the time commitment. Maybe it is harder b/c I’m doing it with my boyfriend, so we have to work around two different schedules…but there are some days that we just don’t have the time to work out for 1-1.5 hours!
Also, we haven’t been following the diet plan. I don’t have time to prepare and cook all of the dishes or the money to buy all of the non-conventional ingredients, so I’ve just been trying to be conscious about what I eat. I’ve definitely cut my fast food trips down by 2/3 since starting this workout.
