With college in full force, and being on the verge of a new job, my writing has been a daily routine. It may not be in efforts towards my books, yet it is actually proving to myself just how I can actually do it. The novel is going to be on hold for the time being. Assignments to finish and life to continue living. I am good with it.

How I did it: First, I made a list of the songs which initially came to mind. There are many old favorites I still hear every so often in passing. Next, I went through my cassette (yes, I still have most of them), and cd collection and noted my fave's. Any of the songs I couldn't remember the names of exactly, I would google part of the name and lyrics. It pulled up the song right away. Around Christmas, I was reminded of some of my favorite … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I made the commitment to join NaNoWriMo earlier this year, and put it on my calendar for November 2009. Following the suggestions on the web site, I wrote for quantity and not quality. Made a daily word count goal and kept track of my progress at the end of the day. Although I had some personal challenges arise in my life, I had made a decision to finish NaNoWriMo no matter what was happening. I crash wrote in the last days of Novemb… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Surrendered to the realization that I can be in love with many concepts in my world...and not necessarily one limited to being in love with a man. Falling in love with the beauty of life, good and challenging, is far more sustainable than a personal "relationship". No doubt there will be many more intimate relationships in my lifetime. The idea of finding only "the one" seems so limited and final. Why not open up my heart to experience lo… Read how I did it…

Yes…I took the leap and went straight into college. My courses will be online, which fit in nicely with work, being a single mom, and wanting to create a different career for myself.
Learning so much already. One area is that of acquiring credible information, and how to do so on the Internet. I had no idea Wikipedia was not considered a reliable source of facts. Also learning how to go to school online, which is quite different than it was 25 years ago. It is so much better as far as time and convenience without missing out on the knowledge. Not having to deal with actual libraries is spectacular too. No more making copies at 5 cents each in a hurry before closing time. Hurray for the Internet.
To live in sacredness can sound so daunting to someone as potentially wild as myself. I have come to believe my God wants me to live fully and passionately so long as I am true to myself without hurting others deliberately. Daily prayer and meditation certainly define my morning routine, yet I find myself longing for a deeper connection to my higher power as I understand “him”. What can I do to develop a stronger “sacredness” in my life? Yoga? Vipassana? Group Meditation?
