Emly

(Here’s what happened):
I was stood in front of Benji, frozen to the spot, muttering a very quiet hello and “I’m fine” when he asks how I am. He then proceeds to tell me to breathe and relax as he can see I’m shaking and feel like fainting. He signs my GC picture and list of performing artists I’d taken with me. Next is Billy. He smiles and signs my stuff for me, I hardly say a word and just smile nervously. He says “Hey I like your shirt” (I was wearing an Emily Strange tee with ‘EMILY ROCKS’ written across the front), I thank him and mention that because my name actually is Emily, I thought it was cool. Next was Paul who said hello and “Yeah, Emily Rocks!!” to which I said again that because I am Emily, I thought it was fitting. He smiled, shook my hand and said “Hey Emily, I’m Paul” (as if he needed to tell me!!). Joel overheard Paul’s comments about my tee and also said it was cool and he liked it. As I was stood infront of Joel, Paul was telling him how it was fitting as my name was Emily. I thanked Joel about a million times, told him they were awesome and that I loved them all!! I must have sounded like such a child, but he was very grateful, told me to take care and said goodbye.
That was after I’d seen them perform at V Festival in August 2005.
For some reason, half way through the signings, the band requested that no photos were taken. I still tried but got told off by a big bouncer man!

Purely by chance at Heathrow Airport in London, UK. They were flying to LA, I was flying to NYC…They were totally sweet and willing to pose for pictures.
This was in January 2004, and I’ve heard that they’re a little less welcoming with their fans now, but back then they were true gentlemen!!
Try to meet them in random places – around the coffee shops/bars/shops of where they’re performing maybe?
The meet & greet sessions I’ve read about seem like they don’t last long & you’d be lucky to get a conversation out of it.
