How I did it: I picked up an old pattern, "butterick fast and easy b5043", in a sewing shop for €2. It was for a knee length skirt, but I wanted it slightly above the knee, so I shortened the pattern and added a lining to it. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Mum had an old sewing machine lying unused in the house. So I took it out, cleaned and oiled it. I had bought "Sew" by Cath Kidston on a whim a month or so beforehand. I decided to start small and made lavender bags and egg cosies. How I did it: Just knit a few rows each night while chilling on the couch, chatting to friends or watching tv. Used "Stitch n' Bitch" book (in resources) to relearn how to cast on, cast off, change colours and use different stitches. Used rib stitch for ends and a moss stitch for main body of the scarf.
