Kangaroom systems has some really nice plans.
I attended my state’s Sacred Harp Sing Convention earlier this month. I was able to purchase the 2012 Cooper edition of “The Sacred Harp”. Caught up with a lot of singers I met back in February. Right now, I am teaching myself which shape goes with each sound. Anyway, I look forward to singing more in 2013.
Okay. I can play 3 chords now; G, C, and D.
I’m working on a simple version of “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands”. It’s coming along very slowly.
I love my guitar. :)
My son’s first visit to the dentist was successful. Prior to his check-up, we borrowed some books from the library about going to the dentist. He really liked the one titled “Vera Goes To The Dentist”.
I was able to go with him to the exam room, and I had to hold him still in my lap. The dentist took a good look inside his mouth and said he didn’t see any cavities. Hooray!
A haibun I submitted to the e-zine, Simply Haiku, was published in their Autumn 2006 edition. I’m very pleased to have reached this goal.
Now I need to edit the goal to read, “be paid to have my poetry published” ;)
I’ve had good success finding sea beans this summer. One of the beaches I go to had a bunch of stuff wash up after Tropical Storm Alberto. In addition to hamburger beans I found some sea coconuts, some water hickory pods and a pretty glass cologne bottle.
I love beachcombing!
Or rather, homemade postcards. I’ve made several postcards over the past few weeks and sent them off to various parts of the globe. I’m just a little worried about them surviving the postal machines.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I took the time to read a few books this summer about the native people of Florida. Now when I travel to various parts of the state, I’ll have a better appreciation/understanding of Florida history. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll even come across some broken bits of pottery in my backyard :D
I bought a couple of Roma tomatoes and planted them in a container on my patio along with some herbs. I’ve also planted geraniums and mums.
Routine dental visits are challenging for a special needs child. There is a desensitization process one must go through. If successful, we will finally be able to have my son’s teeth examined.
