find a job that I love
Work 2 years ago

I went to college after graduating high school and became a teacher. I knew this was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life as I get sick easily and I found myself sick every semesters, asthma, loosing my voice, etc.
I went back to school to work on my Master’s degree in psychology (I love to work with people) and half way there I found myself attracted to doing something else. I found my calling. I live in San Antonio and work as a Real Estate agent. I love my job. It’s long hours and I work most every weekend, I spend lots of time in a car and lots of money in gas on only a commission based salary. But the satisfaction of being able to help someone buy a home when they thought they couldn’t afford it or the kind of home they never imagined they could have is very satisfying. I genuinely feel very happy for the families I meet and many of them I call friends. I meet very interesting people and no one transaction is exactly the same. Many are difficult to close but once they do because of your hard work it feels fantastic. I also love the fact I work for myself and have the flexibility of moving and being able to still have a career. I hope to move to Spain in a couple years and be able to do what I do for a living. Hope everyone out there finds what they are looking for. Keep the dreams alive. CHEERS!

visit Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico 2 years ago

So many things to do… I’m from there. I lived in PR for 22 years. I miss my little island. Food is wonderful! Beaches are fabulous and traveling to and from is easy.

Live in Spain
Spain or Bust? 2 years ago

I was born in Zaragoza Spain. I have Spanish/American citizenship as my parents are from Puerto Rico and I grew up there. I have lived in US for about 12 years. My husband and I have been talking about a change & want to move to EU. Spain is the obvious first choice for us as I am familiar with the culture, language and I love this country. I understand that visiting and living in a country are very different. I was there last in ‘92. We have been looking at homes and the job market. We are both self employed and starting over is scary. We are concerned as it looks difficult to buy a house, first becaue they are expensive and second because it seems as there are not too many choices. It seems like apartments of flats are easier to come by. We own 3 dogs and we need space. If someone has information about employment, buying a home, cost of living, making the transition easier, taking pets, anything and everything, we would greatly appreciate it. We are looking to move 1-2 years from now if the situation is right for us. THANK YOU!
