I haven’t watched the television at all since the end of the Cricket World Cup, which was a week ago. So far so good. I get a bit uncomfortable about not watching the news, but I am trying to make a concerted effort to use the many excellent internet news sites.

This morning I bought twenty long-stem roses, which are now sitting upon the side table and adding lovely colour to my lounge. I need to expand my flower-buying activities to (a.) cheaper and (b.) less common flowers. Although the market will dictate whether I’m successful in this, there’s no harm in trying. At the moment I get to enjoy my roses…

Although winter is when you need flowers most, it is terribly hard to obtain fresh flowers at this time. In truth, I forgot to buy flowers last week.
