How I did it: There were two positive aspects of waiting in line for mall access: the hokey-pokey and a national anthem sing-along.  The rest of it involved people stepping on my toes, cops yelling in our faces (and threatening arrest if we contined to try to find out exactly what we were waiting in line for), and getting elbowed in the shoulder blade.  I don't regret getting in line at 2 am, and meeting the nice FBI agent who had no clue whe… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I began thinking before I spoke.  Was I angry, sad, or what?  Was it a minor inconvenience?  And most importantly...was it my fault?  I still complain (don't we all), but I've turned it on its head.  Instead of just saying something like "I'm bored," I've begun saying things like "I'm looking for something to do." and then offering suggestions (take a walk, make sidewalk-chalk masterpieces, etc).If I'm in pain, I … Read how I did it…

Seriously. This has gone beyond the point where it even resembles being healthy.

So what if I’m not being paid? I still HAVE money, I have two other jobs, albeit with substantially fewer hours.

So what if one of my professors is adding aspects to a HUGE assignment a week before it’s due? I just need a C to pass the class, and even with a C, I’m almost guaranteed to graduate magna cum laude. Actually, the C is maintaining a personal standard, to not earn any Ds ever.

This is all totally manageable. It’s just a matter of making myself manage it.

lose weight / get in shape

As a whim, I stepped on a scale a couple of days ago…I’ve lost ten pounds. When I stopped to think about it, my clothes have been getting looser, and my workouts longer. The less I think about my weight and lifestyle, the better it becomes. I guess I just have to keep that in mind…but then I’d be thinking about it, right?
