I’ve switched to all sugar free drinks and candy. I buy splenda for my tea and coffee and Equal for my baking. I try not to drink any soda but occassionally I do and sometimes it’s a regular soda but mostly it’s diet. I do drink regualr soda when I think my sugar is getting pretty low and I feel the shakes coming on. It doesn’t happen too often, more when it’s really hot outside. Everyone in my family started going sugar-free after my grandad was diagnosed with diabetes. Even thought we don’t live together, we still share the same healthy habits so no one feels left out because of special diets. I’m really proud to say that my family is like that. It just reassures me that I have a really good support system in my family if I ever need it.

I used to go snowboarding a few times a year up until a few years ago when i got married. My husband (at the time) wouldn’t let me. He was scared of snowskiing and we did take a trip and he whined the entire time and stayed in teh lodge the entire 4 days we were there. I went to go get my board since he was staying in and he forbid me to use my board becasue of an acident I had 2 years prior in CO. I broke my foot when i hit a boulder covered in snow that was in teh middle of the slope. Did a few summersaults down teh hill and landed face first. He wasn’t there but he just heard the story about how I broke my foot and wouldn’t allow me back on it. Well, now that he’s out of the picture, I’m planning on maybe going back next year after I get some things taken care of first.
I took the motorcycle coarse at the community college’s weekend class. It was so much easier than I thought it was going to be as far as balancing. I can pretty much come to a stop without putting my feet down now. We have different skills we have to accomplish in each exercise and they get harder as we go along but the basic skills get easier. I’m so pumped up and can’t wait to get a bike now.
