I’ve already attended orientation to volunteer at my local animal shelter. Tomorrow I’ll be going back for the animal handling class. I’m very excited to get started, I’ll be able to go in whenever I want to, work with almost any animal I want to, and I can choose any and all jobs I want to do. Too bad I can’t volunteer for the rest of my life instead of work lol! :P

How I did it: I already knew I wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter, so I went to my city's website and looked at the volunteer section. The city held classes for volunteers every few months and I kept missing the classes. I finally just put that web page as my home page so I would always see when the next class was. I showed up on October 2, 2010 to the first class for orientation, then I showed up again a week later to learn ho… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I just forced myself to think of something positive to write down at the end of every day, even if it was something little. I eventually realized that I didn't need to write down these events because I have been doing this in my mind all along! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I asked my friends if they knew of any places that were hiring. One of my friends said he knew a manger and got an application for me at this Deli. I dressed nicely to turn in my application and asked for the manager. She asked me to come in the next day for an interview! I dressed up very professionally for the interview and I got the job! I have been trying to get around to this goal. I have decided to volunteer at the local animal shelter, but I must attend an orientation or order to become a volunteer. Sadly, I keep missing the classes just by a few days and they only have them once every couple months. :( I am determined to make it to the next class though, whenever that may be! :)
I’ve been studying everyday for the past week. I have been using SAT prep material from Barron’s. I have the math book, the flash cards, and the general SAT study book. When I took the diagnostic test I scored a 1,300. My goal is 2,100 and that may be a bit unrealistic but I figure it can’t hurt me to aim too high. I’ve also been writing an essay every day to prepare the writing section as well as expanding my vocabulary by learning at least 3 new words a day. :) I am determined to do well!
