46. “The Best Book of Useless Information Ever” by Noel Botham and the Useless Information Society
47. “Fight Club” by Chuck Pahlaniuk
48. “Merry Christmas with Love” by Chris Shea
49. “If Dogs Could Talk: Tongues Unleased!” by Joel Zadak
50. “I Can Has Cheezburger?: A LOLcat Colleckshun” by Professor Happycat
Done, finally! Now, should I try this again for 2009… I’ll have a head start-ish, because I’ve just finished a book today, and I’ve got one or two that are close… hmm…

This will probably be my second to last entry, the last day of 2008 is tomorrow. I have some “backup” books that I read that I could consider in this list, but I kind of don’t want to, because they’re short and feel like cop-outs. But in any case, I will have enough books read, I just need to see how few or how many of my “cop out” books I need to add. I also think it’s kind of fair for me to add these cop out books, because I read like, 3/4ths of several giant comp. sci. textbooks over this semester, so while I didn’t read all of them, they should add into my score.
44. “The Devil and Miss Prym” by Paulo Coehlo
45. “The Courage to Be Catholic” by George Weigel
The Devil and Miss Prym feels more true to Coehlo’s style. I liked this epic story of good vs. evil, with it’s simple, yet complex ending.
The Courage to Be Catholic was an enlightening book into the Catholic sexual abuse crisis of 2002. It went into the history of external and internal corruptions and influence that put the Catholic Church into a position in which this scandal could easily happen. The book then goes on to explain what types of reforms needed to be instituted in the Church in America to reform and reinvigorate the Church, and prevent future scandals.

41. “Made for More” by Curtis Martin
42. “Choke” by Chuck Pahlaniuk
43. “By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept” by Paulo Coehlo
Made for More was a good book, a very academic intro to Christianity, then the author’s personal rediscovery of Catholicism after being an evangelical Protestant.
Choke is a perennial favorite of mine, I love Denny, but I still haven’t gotten to see the movie version of this yet.
By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept wasn’t as good as Coehlo’s other book that I had read, “The Alchemist.” This was a good love story, so if you want to read about that, go for this book. Beautiful story. If you think this book explains Catholicism or the renewal in the Charismatic movement in Catholicism, then stay away from this book. Huge, gaping, theological inaccuracies.
I should have maybe three more books by the end of tonight. I will finish this goal!
