learning a martial art in itself can be extremely effective and prove to be worthwhile, especially (and i speak for all the ladies in the room…) if you find yourself being followed in the middle of the night…..
however, how well you preform in an actual fight depends on your school. any “high-ranked” brown belt from a school that merely competes in tournament just to show off their kids wouldn’t last 5 seconds in a real fight…
help,
i am in search for a GREAT martisl arts academy/sites that actually teach you survival/basic combat and don’t emphasize over belts (as in statuses) or attend tournaments. something that will actually teach me how to protect/defend myself. i’m proan to being bullied a lot as well so it would be nice if i knew about a few kicks…
