I’ve really gotten into cooking Japanese food, and it’s fantastic-delicious, nutritious, and full of vegetables. Did I mention it´s delicious? I´ve been working my way through a cookbook called Washoku, by Elizabeth Andoh, and I can´t recommend it enough. Tonight I’m making soy-simmered kabocha squash, and I can’t wait to try it. I’ve always liked fruits and vegetables, but part of putting this goal up was to remember to cook and eat more of them!

Because I was starting out from total couch potato, I decided to focus on the swim and the bike, because you can walk the run,but you sure can't walk the swim or the bike! I also looked for a triathlon that had a friendly reputation, because I was … Read how I did it…

We went via Chicago and Wyoming on the way out, and came back via Las Vegas, New Mexico, Memphis, and A… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've been working on this for a while--I followed coolrunning.com's couch-5k plan. I got together with a friend and we picked a 5k race we were going to do, and then I followed the plan and actually ran a whole 5k without stopping or walking! Read how I did it…

I gave up on this goal for a while, because my shoulder was just in no shape to do anything, but my shoulder is a lot better now, so this goal is going back on the list!
