On The Road was the book of my fall ‘06, and it had a decent effect on me. One of my friends proposed a Kerouac road trip the other day, and maybe it’ll happen before we go off to college. We’ll see.

Since I got into the works of Dumas and Hugo I’ve been very Francophile. Seeing films in their original language and hearing French recordings of Les Mis have really inspired me to take up French. I took Spanish through 3 and gave it up, but I think I’ll go through with French in college. I’ll teach myself independently to prep until next year, so that I have a decent foundation.
I’m really big into history, and French history is very very interesting to me. I just want to be able to call myself bilingual.

Next summer is the 145th anniversary. I plan on going with my dad and brother sometime. I really cannot wait, it’ll be one of those things I won’t forget.
