So, a non-profit under 18 writing organization in my city requested me and this one other girl to go on a retreat (all paid for by a grant) to this retreat place to write a children’s book about neighborhood and street. So, we did that, and now we just need to find an illustrator. And then my name will be in that lovely black (or blue or whatever) ink, and a book I helped write will be sold!

How I did it: I bought some plaid fake nails from Rite Aide and glued them on. They kept falling off and getting in the way. It's hard to type with nails so long, and it seemed like it was impossible to keep them all attached, even using the special glue. So, I took them off a few days later. How I did it: I did this by talking with my mom about what musical she'd like to go see with me. She didn't want to see a tragedy or a drama. Since Hairspray was closing on January 4th, I said I really wanted to see that. The day after Christmas I drove down to NYC with my family, and my mom and I saw Hairspray on the 27th. So I just put on fake nails now. I used the sticky tabs, instead of the glue. The nails are making it hardd for me to type so I’m typing about twice as slow as normal. I hope none of them pop off.
...Is that I keep getting distracted by new, shiny books, and not reading the ones on the list. I’ve started Pride and Prejudice, and like it. I finished The Secret Life of Bees. It was alright, but I have to analyze it for school, so I was too busy trying to figure out what the bees symbolized to really enjoy it. I finished the book Life As We Knew It for school, and it wasn’t on my list. It was thought provoking and depressing. Really, really depressing (it was about the end of the world, essentially…). So now I’m in a mood like I’m being suffocated by a rainy cloud. But, I’m mildly happy that I managed to not cry reading it. Yay me.
