How I did it: I was signed up on CouchSurfing for years before I finally took the plunge! Now I have stayed with different people all over Europe. I even took part in some meetups, met lots of people in the places I was staying, foreigners and locals. How I did it: i live in a small town in france right now... there is really only one good cafĂ© that is open late and that is centrally located. so we went there all the time.. sometimes once a week, sometimes daily. sometimes sat down at 11am, ordered a coffee, then at 1pm lunch, then another coffee, then finally left at like 5pm! anyways one day the waiter came by and said 'the usual?' with a smile on his face... i couldn't have been happier!
