remodel the bathroom
Over the hump 13 months ago

We’re just over half way with this project (doing it ourselves).
We completely gutted the bathroom so I knew it wouldn’t be done in a weekend, but come on, it’s been a month and we just got the sink and toilet functioning again?
Word to the wise: do NOT start a major home improvement project during hunting season! It’s lucky to get a few hours of attention per week. Now that the floor and plumbing is done by hubby, I’ve been able to get in there and give attention to the walls and floor.
Whew! It’s starting to look like a bathroom again!

Be on time to work every day.
I'm just a little late though... 15 months ago

I don’t know what happens every day, but no matter if I get up earlier, I’m still running 5-10 minutes late. I don’t feel like I get distracted, I do the same routine every day.

I think it may be that when I don’t get up earlier, I know I’m running late and will rush through my shower and other parts of the routine. But if I am up earlier, then I see it as time to slow down.

So instead of getting up just 5-10 mins earlier, I really should make it 20-25 as to not be so rushed and also to be on time.

Aw man…get up earlier? But I love my sleep so much :[

Donate clothes I dont wear anymore (read all 2 entries…)
I feel so productive! 15 months ago

I already had stacks of clothes that I set aside to be donated, but just hadn’t loaded them up and brought them in (for YEARS—this is why I have a ‘stop procrastinating’ goal too). Before I did bring them, I went through my hubby’s and the kid’s clothes and we ended up bringing 7 garbage bags full of stuff to Goodwill. Holy smokes!
And I didn’t even go through the stuff currently in my closet yet…

go for more walks (read all 2 entries…)
Work Walks 15 months ago

Well, I haven’t left home to go for a walk yet, but last week I went for a half hour walk during my lunch on 3 days and I’ve done the same twice this week so far.
A half hour isn’t a major workout, but it sure does wonders for my disposition during the day :)

make more friends
It's not as hard as I make it... 16 months ago

I think I’m too afraid of rejection to put myself out there and try to make new friends. I have a few good friends, but as we grow older and become more involved with our own new families, we’ve also grown apart and don’t have the same priorities anymore. I need to suck it up and have more self confidence; I need realize some people may want to be friends with me and some won’t…and that’s okay :)

get a haircut
Fly Aways 16 months ago

It’s been about 5 months, time to get rid of the dry ends.

learn the constellations
Use it or lose it 16 months ago

I took an astronomy class in high school (10 years ago) and loved learning about the constellations. Unfortunately after years of not using the knowledge, it has faded away…

give up soda
Easy peasy 16 months ago

I’m not a fan of carbonated beverages (unless it’s a beer, ha) so not drinking soda is an easy one for me.

take yoga classes
Stress be gone 16 months ago

I need a way to relieve stresses and I’ve heard this is an excellent way…yelling at my husband doesn’t seem to be working, ha ;)

go for more walks (read all 2 entries…)
Ready, Set... 16 months ago

I really love going for walks so why don’t I do this more? I need to just take my lazy butt of the couch and go!

Donate clothes I dont wear anymore (read all 2 entries…)
Goodwill 16 months ago

Looking through my closet at so many clothes and seeing nothing to wear made me decide I needed to refresh my wardrobe. But first, I must get rid of many many items I haven’t worn in a least a year (some are more).

update my resume
Here I am? 16 months ago

We’ll be moving to a new city in about a year, so I know I’ll have to update my resume’ soon. My problem is, how do I make my qualifications sound impressive? I feel like anyone could do what I do (just office work) so I need to beef up the resume’ to make myself stand out.
Hmm, at least I have a little time to work it out…

pay off credit cards
Baby Steps 16 months ago

When my husband and I actually sat down to look at our credit card debt, we were shocked at what our combined total was, $20,000! A big chunk of that is from our wedding 4 months ago but still, we thought “what did we spend on?” It didn’t seem that we were living beyond our means, but once we thought about it, what we were doing was being lazy. Simple purchases that could have been paid for with cash, were put on the plastic to be taken care of later. Then when the time would come to pay it off, something would come up and the balance wouldn’t get paid.
Now with us looking at adding to our family, we’d like to pay the debt down before doing so. My biological clock isn’t just ticking, it’s booming and I want to get this going!

We have our debt down in black & white in a spreadsheet to show our progress, we’ve consolidated to lower interest cards, stopped using the cards and are making larger payments, but it just doesn’t seem to be going down very fast.

It’s discouraging at times, but I know it will be worth it and be a great feeling when our goal is accomplished.
