My husband and I instituted a weekly date night when things started to feel a little too routine. We plan it for Wednesdays, which allows us to go “out on the town” when “the town” (which is actually a metropolis!) is not so busy. It also gives us something to look forward to in the middle of the week. We think every married couple should keep dating!

I used to be in the military and flew medical evacuations in Hueys and Blackhawks- what a rush! Skimming the treetops with the doors open, feeling the wind in your face… it’s amazing! I also flew in an A-Star while on vacation in Kauai and will never forget the experience. I can’t wait to go up again someday!
OK, so I only have 3 1/2 years to enjoy my thirties, but I want to make the best of what I’ve got left. I’ve been struggling though this decade after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia the year I turned 30 and it turned my world upside down. I went from being outgoing, happy, energetic, athletic, and well on my way to accomplishing the goals I had set for myself, to a primarily housebound lump. I am really tired of it and I regret having “lost” what should have been some of the best years of my life.
Since I can’t seem to rid myself of the FMS and since I’m not getting any younger, I think I will have to work on accepting myself and shifting my goals so I can better enjoy the rest of this decade. Maybe I will plan for some less strenuous but still fun things to do in the next couple of years so I won’t look back on this time later on and see it as a total wash.
