I’ve had to give up on this because it isn’t a good enough strategy. Just saving your salary isn’t going to make you a lot of money, you need to invest in pensions, property and stocks as well as have cash.
Treat sunday nights like a Thursday night; think of Monday as a Thursday. Don’t let work next day influence what I do in an evening (as long as it doesn’t involve getting lashed).
Use my evenings more, don’t just live for the weekends and holidays. Only let work effect my life during work hours, not at the weekend or on an evening.
Identify what age I would like to retire
Its the 1st of Jan and I was determine not to have a drink. Then at 8pm my wife thought the flat below was on fire so we called the firemen out and started to evacuating the building. It was steam from the apartment below – because the temperature dropped so dramatically it looked like smoke bellowing up.
So no one was hurt and the emergency was over but I was left restless and had a drink – 1 bottle of pear cider and 3 cans of guinness. I woke this morning annoyed with myself.
So ok, today IS going to be drink free.
I’ve started the year well with an 18 mile run and its only week 4 of my training schedule – this is the earliest I’ve done this distance in training and I’m feeling confident that I can achieve a PB.
