I need to get a bike. I’ve been riding a stationary bike at the gym, but am looking for a bike to ride around the neighborhood and, eventually, to work. Right now, I only live about five miles from work, so the task of riding a bike there isn’t too daunting and if it is too hot in the afternoon to ride home again, the city buses have bike racks on front.

How I did it: I finally got everything out of my house and -- TA DA! -- got electricity back a week after the hurricane. I haven't yet replaced all the food we lost in the hurricane, but I got the old stuff cleaned out, so that is something, right? Read how I did it…
But if you need help accomplishing this goal, you need more help than I can give.
I wrapped up 2008 with about 20 pounds that has been crowding my shelves for gosh knows how long. This book is hefty; I am considering keeping it beside my bed permanently in case someone breaks in—I am almost sure it would be a lethal weapon if launched at someone’s head. As far as literature, it is a lethal weapon, as well. Not mind-bending by 21st century standards, although I am sure it bent a few minds 200 years ago, but still, it stands the test of time. It did not feel like a more-than-800-pages-long book. Very readable.
So I was only partially successful with this goal in 2008, but that’s OK. I’m all set for 2009!
