I enrolled in a class for total beginners this Thursday! I’m excited!!! And this totally isn’t a reaction to being almost 30, no that couldn’t be!

Okay, clearly the only way this will work for me is to absolutely and totally stop forever. Last one was today April 14, 2009. My one exception will be my rum and cokes (which are more rum than coke).

And this time, I mean it ;)

I don’t know about everyone else, but I feel like I need a couple great things going on in my life before I call people. It feels strange to say you aren’t up to anything special and life is just in a holding pattern. So you don’t talk for months, then you need a good reason that you haven’t talked! Maybe I just need to have a call/e-mail schedule. I think I need to learn to embrace the 7 minute phone call.

So I was born with a cleft lip, and had to have a few surgeries to fix my lip. At age 12 they did the lip and nose, after which my nostrils were noticeably different sizes AND shapes, and the nose is overly round. Plus, its hard to breathe. Added to the cost of the surgery will be the fact that I am going to have to fly somewhere to get this done, since there are no good plastic surgeons around here. Why does everything cost soooo much?

Okay, so I’m pretty decent at making turns and caving back and forth, as long as I slow down some first. Next years goals are to start doing faster turns, ride steeper slopes, and start doing some jumps. Potential problem: next winter I turn 30. Starting to get old old old!

I found an artist (haven’t got a price quote yet though), I know where I want it (left shoulder), and I even know what I want (gecko). Now I just need to find a design I like, or at least something close enough that I can show the artist and he can draw something based on it.

It looks like I’m getting hired with a small company where everyone is super friendly. The only problem is that it is only for 2 months! They seem like they would like me to stay longer, but they have to find something for me to do first!

I’ve got around 8 grand saved up, which is around enough to cover the closing costs (stupid administrative charges). Now I’ve got to get the down payment.
