I moved in to 14 Walker Street in Kittery, ME at the end of January. When I lost my job in April, I thought I was going to have to move out, because I could not afford the rent. My friend Jess moved in with me for the summer to help with rent.
I bought a fairly good mattress from my friend. I also bought the bed frame from him, but it broke in transit, so I am on the hunt for a new one.
I have been using ProActive for almost 2 months. My skin feels softer and looks healthier. I still have got some pimples around my chin, but they dont seem to last as long.
I also have been using sunscreen when I go to the beach. I put 15 on last week and this week I used 8. I did get a little burnt on my chest yesterday, but nothing too bad. It doesnt hurt to touch or anything.
Today was my first lesson. I have 3 more left. I thought I would be more scared, but I wasnt. We just walked around in a circle and I practiced posting to the trot??? I think that is what it was called. I groomed the horse before I got on and they showed me how to put the saddle on (western) and the bridle. Next week, I hope I can do that by myself and trot. I am going to take pictures next week.
My Abigail just died a week ago. She was 13 years old and my best friend. I miss her very much. I love pugs. I am definately going to get another one soon!
Ok, well Boston Marathon Day was great. Lots of people, lots of excitement, lots of family and my friends and boyfriend came to run and support me. It was a great day. I felt really good at the end when I got my medal and even started crying, because I had accomplished something that I had wanted to do for so long. However, when people asked me later if I would do it again I had to really think about it, because Marathon Day was great, but the four month of training in the minus zero degree weather, getting up early to run because it takes all day to run 14 miles, not drinking, really sucked!! It is a toss up really if I would still do it again:/
My friend Jamie and I organized a cake fight. We reserved a piece of land on the town park and marked off the fighting area we called “the pitt” and invited a bunch of people to come and throw cake at each other. We made 30 cakes for the fight. We also tried raising money for the Boston Marathon through this, but not a whole lot of people came. Even though not a lot of people came, I had a ton of fun.
I have been guaranteed a number to run in the 111th Boston Marathon through Dana Farber. I am excited because this is something I have always wanted to do, but I dont feel like at this point in my life I am 100% in to it. To be honest, I did not think I would get a number when I applied. Not only do I have to train to run 26.2 miles, but I also have to raise $3000 (that was part of the stipulation for getting a number through Dana Farber) I am worried about both. What if I dont raise enough money? Then I am stuck with paying the rest. What if my leg breaks and I cant run?
My friend is doing it too. I would hate to see her run it without me. My sister did it last year. I would be “the one” who hasnt run yet. I know this is something I should just do, but how come I am having such a hard time deciding?
Brazil was awesome. I was only in Salvador for a week, but it was great. I volunteered there in an oprhanage through Cross Cultural Solutions. It was a great program because they fed me and gave me a place to sleep and then also took me on tours in the afternoon after volunteering. I want to go back and go to Rio. I also need to learn more Portuguese before I go back!
