I have always loved video games since i was a kid but i’m also one of those few unlucky people in the world who suffer from the conundrum known as 3d induced motion sickness. It started with Doom, became progressively worse when games like Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament came out, and now i more or less can’t play a majority of the games that are being produced these days without giving myself a side-splitting headache for two weeks. And I’ve come to terms with that. So i stick with what i know. 2d games, puzzle games, rpg’s, and the few adventure games i can tolerate.
I thought Gradius would be a good game to play since it’s just your average 2d remake of a classic side scrolling spacecraft shoot-em up. And i was right for about 6 levels. Then level 7 came rolling around and the screen went from horizontal to vertical to horizontal to vertical and well you get the picture. I had to put the controller down and lay down on my bed.
I haven’t touched this game since that day but my buddy oral electrolyte solution says i’m going to kick your ass this week.
