It simply has moved down in priority to the point that it is no longer a goal. If it happens, then it happens.

I’ve implemented a few sites that have items that can be purchased through a shopping cart. Others I’ve simply created PayPal buttons that offer selections for products.
I have a number of sites that have built in blogging, not only for my entries but anyone that joins the site.
Here are some of the sites:
http://www.313fad.com
http://www.abandonedindetroit.com
http://www.realdivatv.com
and as I get new website clients their sites can be setup for blogging – either selectively or as a community.
I’ve been shooting events of all sorts and talking with people about photos for years. My conversation has made me into what I am – a photographer, and a valued one at that.
My photos hosted online number over 70,000 now. I’ve been venturing into getting people noticed, creating events, promotions, and so much more.
A portfolio is a statement in time – it is simply a collection of markers from the roadside indicating where you have been and are now. The future can look a lot like the past, or you can choose to violate that and expand your horizons.
I am creating a fashion networking community through the contacts I’ve met over the past 2.5 years. I’m also creating fashion shows and inviting new aspiring talent to be seen.
Wasn’t so much cleaning by choice, but required moving. Things have not settled down. I have a storage unit to contend with renting. Therefore many things are not where I live. I have the barest of necessities. I’m getting closer to a vision I once had of having no place to call my own.
Keep it light and mobile.
Multiple sites in progress at present. Things are looking much better than they did six months ago.
Yes I’ve been working on about 6 sites recently and half of them are looking for ecommerce rolled in. I’ve been going through version releases of Drupal and it is installing much better now. I think it is a matter of my getting comfortable with the interface and how to do what I want with it.
Getting to bed seems to be the problem. Once I am there and relax I’ll fall asleep in under 5 minutes. One thing is for sure – I need to get a proper bed moved into this place. Sleeping on the sofa sleeper just isn’t doing it. I need to find someone with a van available or rent a truck some weekend and take care of moving things I need from my old place to the new. Looks like I need to rearrange some priorities a bit and have to do it SOON.
I can’t say the past is completely gone, just neatly stored in my memory should it become required. I can’t keep comparing things now based on past performance – too many factors change all the time. Most of them are outside what I would know about or would care to know about.
Hearing “no” once doesn’t mean that answer will always be given. But I’m not going to stand there doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Moving around, getting experience then returning is a good approach. In the process of going I can learn more to bring into the conversation next time.
Seems as soon as I started putting a focus into web development I got a bunch of people requesting time from me as a photographer. Since that has been paying activity I’m happy for it. So it looks like my personal challenge may slip a bit. Tomorrow I will be going to a technical job fair.
I have ran myself into the wall of exhaustion this weekend. Here it is nearly 5am and I’m still awake – gotta call it a night and SLEEP!!
Should the time come when I’m in the environment to do this I’d love to go for it.
Our featured designer in the Abandoned In Detroit fashion showcase project during the March 11 photoshoot.
Great lady full of life, energy, and laughter. Her line is knitwear and our four models for the shoot showed off 8 of her outfits.
I’ve been learning Drupal (http://www.drupal.org) since January when I bought web hosting through Powweb. I’m an affiliate with a number of companies through Commission Junction and this looked to be the best solution.
What I love about this open source solution is that there’s no expense involved. I’m spending a bit of time learning how to plug modules together, entering codes to enable service, and then products. I should have a functioning site within a couple weeks. So I’m setting this as a personal challenge.
Drupal is a Content Management System (CMS) released in Jan 2001 from students in Antwerp. There are a lot of products in the CMS category of web solutions. Another CMS – Joomla (released 2005) which was spawned by Mambo (released 2000). I looked at Joomla and the ecommerce solutions listed were all pay products developed and marketed on the Joomla site. Joomla has a pretty interface – nice graphics and could be easier to manage.
Advantage of using a CMS to deliver ecommerce is you can build additional content which pulls people into your store. And you can allow your consumer to interact with your site, offering them ownership of selected content. When people own a stake in the place they are shopping they become loyal customers.
Since I have been as heavy as 245 pounds and am now 185 (I am 6 feet tall). I feel there’s a certain amount of skin and tissue that developed when I was heavy. It would take a lot of dedicated effort to rid myself of the slight flab I have. Rather than fret over it and occupy one of my 43 things spots, I’m moving on to more meaningful things.
I have plenty of people comment that I look like I’m in great shape.
Instead of Wiki I’m seeing CMS as a stronger technology that reveals itself to the internet. Publishable content and format is more customizable. Current CMS of focus is Drupal. I’m interested in finding other Drupal content creators.
I have been investigating web services and found a great content management tool that enables the creating of a book from blog pages. Of course the blog entries can be photos with or without narrative. I haven’t fully explored this and would like to see if others are interested in creating a compiled photoblog that turns into one or more books of work.
A bit about my photography – I cover a lot of music and nightlife events around Detroit. I also am connected with the fashion community here.
When it comes to technology the best description of what I do is “Systems Integrator”. I bring the technology needed to solve the problem and make it as seamless and friendly as possible.
Feelings of unity, oneness, similarity, acceptance – that is what I enjoy having in my life.
What if every encounter with another person you approached with love and compassion?
I listen for what they are interested in getting from me.
I’m open to hearing them. Their true expression instead of what I make from interpreting it.
I become vulnerable and easy to know. True to me and true to you.
I feel like I’m too busy to really be entertaining a girlfriend. I am older so hopefully a relationship would be a bit more independent than tons of drama and dependency. I guess the thing I like is knowing that someone out there cares deeply for me. Right now I have a lot of friendly acquaintences but not that many who are with me on a weekly basis, let alone daily.
Other issues crop up like lack of money, freelance job that has me in poverty, no car – using bus/bicycle.
I’ve given up asking and just about need someone to walk up and tell me they are interested.
