How I did it: Just do it...Creating the good habits and breaking the bad ones is the hardest part. For me it takes less discipline to maintain good ones, then make new ones. As far as what I eat, I try to focus on the major groups: grains, veggies, dairy, fruits and meats. I eat whole grain bread, oats, pasta, etc.; milk, yogurt, cheese, lots of fruits (they make good snacks and work well with a lot of meals), and lean meats like sea food, eggs, chicke… Read how I did it…

How to learn to juggle

How I did it: This past x-mas, I got a set of beginner juggling clubs and decided to give it a try. It takes lots of practice, and you have to remember that you cannot learn to juggle w/o dropping clubs; in fact dropping them is a key part of learning. That said, so far I can juggle best after warming up and doing a little stretching. I'll start with one club, then two, just to warm up, and then I try three. How I did it: I signed up for a life guarding course in the area, paid the fee, showed up to class, studied and passed the final exam. I'm a decent swimmer, but I still made sure that I could complete the swimmer prerequisites before I signed up for the course. Read how I did it…

A life long goal

So far this year, I’ve been reacquainting with the works of Plato and really enjoying every bit of it. The little reading I set out to do initially has naturally expanded to more and more. The beauty of it all being that there is very nearly an endless supply of material to draw from, and a lot of it is free. Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Kant, Hume, Mill, Kierkegaard, Sartre; easily a lifetime of reading, rereading, questioning, reflecting, thinking, etc.

My goal is to crack open a book, read at least a little every day, and see what these philosophers can get me to think about.
