Unless you count funerals, it’s usually the sappy tearjerkers that do this to me…
I buy lots of secondhand items..my lawnmower ($50) after the first one broke (it came with the house), our car (2000 Sunfire), virtually all my music (thrift stores are our friend!) etc etc.
I’m no treehugger but it is also a way to be more “green” without curtailing your lifestyle into the stone age.
