I’m planning to head to my hometown the weekend after next to prune my Dad’s fruit trees and (hopefully) build him a raised bed or two in his garden.

I guess I had given up on this goal too soon. I downloaded a blog reader on my iPad and synched it with my Google Reader account. Found some I really love: a couple who sold their house, bought a sailboat and have now been at sea for over 500 days; a man who’s preparing to hike the Appalachian trail this year; several individuals who are building and/or living in tiny houses; a number of farms. I’ve been reading these often.
I had this idea. All these thoughts about my novel come to me on a regular basis, and some would be worth hanging onto. I think I’ll keep a “novel journal,” a proving ground of sorts for those ideas to develop before they actually go into the novel itself.
