Learn Su-doku
addictive 2 years ago

Sudoku is absolutely addictive! Ever since learning, I always carry a book with me wherever I go – I have so many many many! I also have a pc version I play all the time and I really want a table-top one as well. Even one of my sons love to play since I taught him how :)

Pure bliss 2 years ago

I was totally thrilled when I finally made it to the spa! I had some facial treatments, a body rub, my hair beautified and my toesies enveloped in hot wax! It was everything I hoped it would be and I can’t wait to go again!

Go to Disney World (read all 2 entries…)
C.e.l.e.b.r.a.t.e. Good Times !! 3 years ago

Disney World was all that we imagined it to be. And then some. We crammed all 4 parks into 5 days of non-stop top of the line entertainment. We even made it over to Sea World and ended the last day of our trip at the Kennedy Space Center. Sore feet and tired bodies kept up the pace as we packed as much fun into our little vacation as we could. We call it little because we would definitely love to take this same vacation again, but stay longer! I recommend to anyone who has not been to put this destination at the top of the list. Not to be missed.

Things to keep in mind:

LOTS and LOTS of walking. Be prepared. I wasn’t. My kids weren’t. ugh

Take a water bottle or 2. It gets very hot out there and the drinks are pretty pricey in the parks. For 5 people, anyway. I bought hippy packs for all of us and had my hubby and son carry the 2 that had 2 water bottles in them. I would freeze fresh water every night before bed and it would be completely melted within 2 hours of being out and about. We’d buy some drinks throughout the day, but we were also constantly refilling the water bottles from drinking fountains. It helped keep everyone hydrated. A must for this kind of trip.

Take plenty of film for those special moments. You won’t regret it.

Have fun! Even if you’re sore. Or tired. You won’t take this trip every day. I told myself this over and over. Who knows when you’ll go again? Definitely not tomorrow. I need to recover, that’s for sure. :)

Done. It was so easy, it was embarrassing. But hey, now I know! And all because I’m not shy about saying ‘help me!’ :D

Thanks to this nice guy for the finger pointing!

First goal completed.

stay in touch with 'new' old friends
Logging minutes 3 years ago

Penny and I first reconnected at the end of November (2005) and our fist phone call was 3 hours long. Thrilling to gab with her just like old times. She’s had a busy life these past several years. Sounds a bit like my crazy hectic life. Have managed to catch each other on yahoo! messenger a couple of times, which is just as much fun. Sharing pictures, too! She has a beautiful 8 year old son and she is shocked by how big my boyos have gotten since she’s last seen them. =D

Last night, we talked on the phone for over 3 hours. Again. I can see a pattern in the works here, folks. Finally went to bed around 4 in the morning. We talked about absolutely everything. It is truly wonderful getting to know her all over again. She only lives about 8 hours away and it would be lovely to see her sometime soon! (maybe this summer). Meanwhile, we’ll keep tearin’ up the phone lines with our blurbs. =)

How do you do this? 3 years ago

43things.

I want to try to figure out how to set up some of the options I see on other people’s pages. I’ve searched through my options in my account and it’s quite elusive. Any ideas?

Meanwhile, back on the farm…

be more organized
ancient history... 3 years ago

I used to be organized. agonizingly so. My husband doesn’t believe me when I try to press this fact onto him. My family is amazed at the difference in my today from when I was growing up. But I gotta tell you, when I graduated high school, got married and had 2 kids, my story was rewritten with a few eyebrow-raising, mystifying twists and turns. My glory days of being “little miss sassy pants-i can do it all-a place for everything and everything in its place” had sadly come to an end. Now my life (aka house, car, memory, time, etc.) are all at odds with each other. I have no set schedule with organized, sensible activities other than eating and drinking (don’t let me confuse you, I’m not organized here either, but they do get done… eventually), I am not productive with my time, my house and car are not exactly kodak candidates, and I seem to have forgotten everything I’ve ever known.

Now, when my family tries to tell my husband this, he vigorously shakes his head, while murmuring no over and over. He cannot comprehend of such an existence for me. It simply cannot be, to his way of thinking. But I swear it’s true, every word of it. I used to be the poster child for neatness, cleanliness and organization. That is one thing I have not forgotten. The good ole days. I sorely miss them, I do. Anybody know where they’ve gone? I cannot find them. Oh, and if you see my cat, please send him home. I think my memory problem is catching. He seems to forget where he lives for days on end. OoO
