Flylady sure helps me conquer my clutter! www.flylady.net :)
My new kitchen is so awesome, that I’ve completely eliminated clutter in there. Sure helps to have a couple of pantry cupboards :)
Well, we moved across the country, and with the sale of our old home were able to pay off a lot. Almost done :)
I’ve been knitting again! I have almost finished a sweater for my son – bought the wool a couple years ago, but still have enough for his size. Am doing an upside-down project because I just dread seams!
Well, I put my son ahead of me, and he has been taking lessons for over a month now. My plan is to start riding as well in the summer. We won’t be riding together, as even though I’m rusty, I’m much more advanced :)
I have my own piano-teaching studio and I run a music-lessons service which sends music teachers to other people’s homes as well. It all keeps me quite busy.
Just 3 courses to complete my English B.A. that I started over a decade ago. Well, first my music associate degree, and then on to University courses :)
Well, this is the month I have to apply for my exam, part 1. The question is, will I have enough time to practice and study to do well? We shall see – the first part is in February. Wish me luck!
We were in the car listening to our latin CD last week, and I heard a little voice pipe up “porto – I carry, laboro – I work”. My two year old loves to speak latin with us!
Started learning Latin with my 7-year-old son. We homeschool. So far we’ve learned how to say hello and count to 10. Hey, that’s where some of the months of the year come from! :)
I took a workshop of 4 classes over the summer. I made the mistake of not bringing a water bottle the first class – boy did I need one. Belly dancing is a workout and you do sweat! I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt body parts and muscles I didn’t know I had :) Now I’m belly dancing at home with various videos I keep getting on loan from the library. If someone knows of a good video to buy, let me know :)
I never thought I’d be able to, but my husband made me learn to drive his car. I still prefer an automatic, but it sure is handy to know how to drive a stick. Driving it once a week for a 30 minute round trip drive, I felt comfortable after a few months :)
I finally have some of my daughter’s photos in an album (she’s 2!). I’m trying to do a little bit almost every night.
We’ve begun paying off those pesky credit cards. We’re starting to make extra payments instead of just the minimum payment! This is all part of our plan to get our dream farm :)
Wow! Is it ever rewarding. My son has gone from having nightmares and being not altogether happy in his Senior Kindergarten year to being a happy-go-lucky Gr. 1 at home. He is learning chess from a chessmaster, learning to read by leaps and bounds and going on all sorts of fun field trips with local homeschool groups.
I started my recipe book, and it looks great, so far, but I got derailed by 3 kids, 3 cats, a dog, volunteering, homeschooling, and my job teaching piano! I hope to get back at it again really soon – maybe the Christmas holidays?
What a fantastic movie. Very dark and sad at times, though. I cried a lot. It was worth the wait :)
If I had a nickel for every adult who told me they wished they’d learned how to play the piano and/or hadn’t quit as a child! I take adult students, but not every piano teacher does. Some adults can be incredibly motivated and progress at staggering speed. Other adults just have way too busy lives, don’t put any practice time in and end up quitting at a higher rate than younger students – which is probably why there are teachers who refuse to teach adults.
I started learning when I was 7 years old. I pretty much always knew I wanted to teach.
I joined a Bowling League in Sept. 2004, with my hubby who’s bowled practically since he was born. I love it, it’s very social and a lot of fun and I’m actually improving :)
