Well, I’m still in classes. My comprehension continues to improve, although I’m still frustrated with my level of speaking. French is proving to be much more difficult that I ever thought. But I keep at it every day and hopefully soon I’ll be speaking like a local! ;)

Okay, it’s all done… we are fully booked for 8 days in Egypt this April! I can’t believe it is finally happening. We are planning on going to Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. We may be stretching our itinerary a bit, but we are really trying to make the most of our limited time there. I can hardly wait!!
We just got back from Sweden and we were lucky enough to catch a sighting of the Northern Lights! We were in Sweden for four nights, two of which we stayed at the Ice Hotel in the village of JukkasjÀrvi which is above the Arctic Circle.
The first couple of days were very overcast, but things cleared up by the third night, when we went on a snowmobile excursion into the Lappland wilderness in search of the lights. Luck was with us, and at about 10pm we saw an amazing showing. It was too cold (between -40 and -50) and we weren’t out long enough to really get any pictures, but it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
The next night the lights never came out, so we really were fortunate to see them when we did. Lappland is a stunningly beautiful place. I hope to return one day, but maybe when it is a tad bit warmer. :)
